ARES uses a multi-layer safety architecture: 360° LiDAR and 8 stereo cameras for environmental awareness, 6-axis force-torque sensing for contact detection, and a sub-50ms emergency stop certified to ISO 10218-1. When unexpected contact is detected, ARES immediately reduces velocity, evaluates the situation, and halts if the contact persists. It is designed to operate safely in shared human-robot workspaces without physical barriers.
